The Abstract Hip Hop Orchestra To Support Soweto Kinch



Just to add to the already exciting appearance of young saxophone star Soweto Kinch at Leeds' Seven Arts, the powerhouse that is The Abstract Hip Hop Orchestra has now been added to the bill.


The Abstract Hiphop Orchestra are a 13 piece ensemble with a big brass section, rappers and 4 piece rhythm section who play big band arrangements of classic 80s and 90s hiphop. The band leader is top saxman Rob Mitchell (The Haggis Horns) who has arranged the music of Jay Dee, A Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde and many other golden era hiphop artists into a big band format, with amazing results. 

Featuring the formidable talents of 
 Jim Corry,Russ Henderson and Athol Ransome on saxes, Malc Strachan, James Hamilton andSi Denis  on trumpets, Rosie Nicol, Kevin Holbrough and Pete Johnson on trombones as well as the rhythm section of Izzy Flynn on keys, Fatty  on bass and Matt Davis on drums
