Northern School of Jazz
The Northern School of Jazz are running their New Year Jazz Course from January 11th until March 15th and although sessions have already begun, a few places are still available.
Run by Dr Kathy Dyson, former senior lecturer at LCoM, Jazz Educator of the Year and current chair of the MU, the course takes place at Blueprint Studios in Salford every Saturday.
This unique structure to jazz education provides comprehensive, in-depth lessons with a renowned educator for a fraction of the price of a degree. The layout of the day is as follows -
11-12pm Aural training with the instrument
12-1pm Technique for improvisation
1-2pm Group transcription
Break
2.30-3.30pm Jazz Improvisation 1
3.30-4.30 Jazz Improvisation 2

4.30-5.30 Jam Session
Costs are £10 per individual workshop, £25 for the morning or afternoon session and £35 for the full day.
