Gig Preview : Badass Brass at The Lescar, Oct 16th.

This week The Lescar in Sheffield welcomes Bad Ass Brass;  a funky New Orleans style brass band, made up from some of the UK’s finest brass players and jazz musicians. The members of the band are are all busy working on the London music scene in a variety of jazz groups, West End shows, orchestras, but together in Bad Ass Brass they are really electric.

Bad Ass Brass come to The Lescar as part of the launch tour for their second album, and have appeared to rave reviews at Ronnie Scotts, and jazz festivals at Cheltenham, London and St Lucia, as well as The Big Chill. Reports from earlier gigs are outstanding, so it's definitely worth coming down to see what its all about!
Their sound blends that of traditional New Orleans jazz and marching band music with more contemporary influences from funk and soul
combined with a high energy live performance and superb musicianship.

Jez Matthews, the man behind the wonderful Jazz At The Lescar, says "A lot of people have said to me that the last (sell out) appearance by Bad Ass Brass...was the best ever Lescar jazz gig, so I've got a feeling its going to be a bit special this week! "Entrance fee is £7, and the music starts at 9pm, doors 8.30pm. Advance tickets are selling well, so book one soon or arrive on time!
