Who put the 'axe' in Halifax?

Post shared from the Dean Clough Facebook page about Soweto Kinch's trio gig.

"Thanks to the 90+ people who turned up to show that not ALL jazz fans are bigoted against music that doesn't come from the American song book. I thought my favourite moment was going to be when Kinch asked for words that spelt out "Halifax" so that he could perform a freestyle rap. The audience suggested 'Heaven', 'Apathy', 'Loquacious', 'Illusion', 'Fundamental', 'Axe' and 'Xenophobia'... "I'm never playing Halifax again!" sighed Kinch. But ACTUALLY the best moment was the encore, when Kinch got everyone to stand and 'stroke the hippo' - which is obviously (see pic) South London slang for 'Dad Dance'... You should've been there." www.facebook.com/deancloughmills
