The Jazz Æsthetic is an ensemble comprised of Hull University music students, founded and led by Dr Peter Elsdon. Since 2009, the group have performed regularly in Hull, including a recent appearance alongside NYJO and Soweto Kinch at Hull Jazz Festival. Now, they are getting ready for two gigs in May - 6th May in Hull and 13th May in Scarborough.

For 2014/15, The Jazz Æsthetic’s set will include music by Brian Blade, Michael League, Weather Report, Eddie Harris, and Michael Brecker, and will feature some of the new music that has emerged from New Orleans in recent years as part of the revival of brass bands in that city, post-Hurricane Katrina.
