In connection with Serious Productions, Howard Assembly Room in Leeds are to host a rare Northern appearance by two internationally recognised musicians; trumpeter Dave Douglas and pianist Uri Caine.
From Howard Assembly Room...
Keyboard wizard Uri Caine first made his name as sideman to improvisers including John Zorn and the virtuosic trumpeter Dave Douglas. Across 22 albums as a leader, he’s since carved out a niche of his own as a sonic adventurer with projects that place him at the forefront of today’s jazz world.
Here he returns to his roots in a duo format with his long term collaborator Dave Douglas, playing a specially selected collection of songs, hymns, and improvisations, ahead of a CD release in summer 2014 but available while on tour.
Tickets are priced £15 and can be booked through the Howard Assembly Room website.
