Chapel Allerton and Hull Freedom Festivals in September

Festival season isn't over yet - in the first 8 days of September, Yorkshire will play host to two jazz festivals...

First up is the Chapel Allerton Arts Festival, which wraps up with a day long event on September 1st. With a range of acts and activities, the day attracts hundreds of people and each year the team at Seven Jazz (led by Steve Crocker) programme the jazz for the event. This year features the Tessa Smith Quintet, Colin Byrne's Leeds Jazz Orchestra, Nic Svarc Trio, Las Camaradas and the James O'Hara Blues Band. Entry to the entire day is £3.

For full information on the event, see the Chapel Allerton Arts Festival Website.

The following weekend sees the 6th annual Hull Freedom Festival take place (6-8th September). This is a weekend of cultural celebration which features music, art, spoken word, dance, theatre and comedy spread across Hull. The jazz acts scheduled to perform are New York Brass Band, Omar Puente & Al McSween Freedom Quintet, Alligator Gumbo, Empirical, Al Morrison's Blues Experience and
Kates Peters Septet.

For full information, schedule and ticket costs for each event (though the majority are free) see the Hull Freedom Festival website.
