Paris Sur Tyne to Celebrate 50 years of Jazz North East

 It's a big year for Jazz North East as they celebrate 50 years of promoting live jazz. Their programme is jam-packed with special events throughout the year but next on the agenda is Paris sur Tyne, an all-day extravaganza of Anglo-French jazz.

On January 24th, the Lit and Phil in Newcastle will be taken over by JNE to host a day of music performed by some of France and the UK's leading improvisers. There will be two sessions, one running 2pm until 6pm then another from 7pm until 11pm. Audiences can attend all day for £20/16 or attend one of the sessions for £12/10.

LCoM Celebrates 50th Birthday with Nikki Iles & All Star Alumni Big Band


Leeds College of Music is celebrating its 50th Birthday and to launch their LCoM50 events, they have invited pianist Nikki Iles to curate a big band of LCoM jazz alumni.

Iles graduated from LCoM in 1984 and subsequently returned as a lecturer. She will be composing and arranging material especially for the performance which features alumni from the early days of the college to some of the most recent graduating years.

The concert takes place on Sunday October 11th at 7.30pm at the Venue and tickets are available for £15. Those interested in attending are advised to book early as this band is sure to pull a crowd!
