Thursday 18th June, 8pm (£15/12)

We’re delighted to welcome one of Europe’s leading saxophonists, Andy Sheppard, with his new quartet, Hotel Bristol Known as a serial collaborator, ECM artist Sheppard has worked with artists from many genres, as well as seminal jazz musicians and composers, and is renowned for his eclectic and lyrical compositions. His exciting new quartet features Denny Ilett on guitar, Percy Pursglove on bass and trumpet, and Dylan Howe on drums. Originally formed as a Bristol-based band to take to the Tbilisi International Jazz Festival in Georgia, the concert was such a success that the band has gone on to play many storming gigs in and around Sheppard’s home city.

“a kicking groove orientated band playing all original music bursting with melody and high energy improvisations, straight out of the Scofield/Lovano legacy.” Jazz at its best!

Information on buying tickets as well as a run down on the entire festival proramme can be found on the Holmfirth Arts Festival website.
