Northern School of Jazz

The Northern School of Jazz are running their New Year Jazz Course from January 11th until March 15th and although sessions have already begun, a few places are still available.

Run by Dr Kathy Dyson, former senior lecturer at LCoM, Jazz Educator of the Year and current chair of the MU, the course takes place at Blueprint Studios in Salford every Saturday.

This unique structure to jazz education provides comprehensive, in-depth lessons with a renowned educator for a fraction of the price of a degree. The layout of the day is as follows -

12-1pm Technique for improvisation

1-2pm Group transcription

2.30-3.30pm Jazz Improvisation 1

3.30-4.30 Jazz Improvisation 2
4.30-5.30 Jam Session

Costs are £10 per individual workshop, £25 for the morning or afternoon session and £35 for the full day.

Full information on each of the classes are available on the Northern School of Jazz website and you can call 0794 130 1799 if you have any questions.
