MJF Originals - Submissions Welcome

Applications are now open for the 2014 MJF Originals scheme. This flagship scheme by Manchester Jazz Festival commissions new works which are then premiered at the festival in summer (July 18th-24th)

They are on the look-out for new projects that develop the work and profile of both emerging and ambassador NW musicians/composers. This year, the festival premiered work by the Felonious Monks, a collaboration between Mike Hall and Debbie Rogers which fused early renaissance music with contemporary jazz.

MJF have altered the application process for the Originals scheme, which is now a two step application. Interested parties should submit a 100-word synopsis of the idea. If the idea meets the criteria, MJF will send out the full stage 2 application to be completed. The deadline for receiving completed stage 2 applications is 28th November at 10am. Applications are only accepted online, no longer by post.

For full information on the scheme, see the Manchester Jazz Festival Originals website.
