Jazz trio Partikel are coming to Leeds to perform at Wharf Chambers, showcasing music from their upcoming third album to be recorded by Whirlwind Records in January as well music from their previous two recordings.
Saxophonist Duncan Eagles describes their music as combining the fundamentals of jazz music with rhythms from South America and West Africa in a melodic and coherent way and their latest album Cohesion was hailed as one of the top 10 albums of 2012 according to Jazzwise. Duncan is joined by Max Luthert on bass and Eric Ford on drums.
As well as Partikel, the gig will also feature music from LCoM's Jack Yardley and his new project featuring Sam Jackson (bass), Matt Hines (alto) and James Milligan (guitar).
