The annual Marsden Jazz Festival takes place in a few weeks, between October 11th and 13th. Committed to providing high-quality jazz from the UK and abroad, their 2013 programme doesn't disappoint.
The mainstream programme boasts a number of highlights including Nikki Iles and Tina May, Get The Blessing, Antonio Forcione, John Etheridge's Trio North and Ariya Afrobeat Arkestra. In addition, Marsden present their first North American import, alto saxophonist David Binney (pictured above). Binney will perform with Mike Coady's Synergy alongside Ivo Neame, Julian Arguelles and James Maddren.
Running alongside the mainstream programme is the cutting edge New Stream programme. This will feature a new festival commission with Matthew Bourne on synthesizer, Batteries (Chris Sharkey, Mark Sanders, Andy Champion and Corey Mwamba), the Laura Jurd Quintet with Lauren Kinsella and Annie Whitehead's Rude 2.0.
