Jazz Round-Up

Sonny Rollins sits next to a dog.

We're nearing the end of Jazz Appreciation Month and heading toward International Jazz Day (April 30th), so now seems like as good a time as any to look at what's happening in jazz...

North Sea have announced their full programme for this year's festival, taking place in Rotterdam on 12th-14th July. Ron Carter with WDR Big band, Branford Marsalis, Avishai Cohen, Owl Trio, Sonny Rollins, Jose James, Metropole Orkest featuring Gregory Porter and Gretchen Parlato and Chick Corea are all appearing, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.

JazzAhead! Bremen

The world's largest jazz conference is currently taking place in Bremen, Germany. Hundreds of organisations, record labels and individuals are taking part in exhibitions, manning trade stands and giving performances. We're sure to see articles and reports from the conference in the next few weeks, but Sebastian Scotney of LondonJazz has already posted this short article - LondonJazz at Jazzahead!
